This is the most exciting moment in poi life, when you first made 3 beat weave!

Practice with one poi

Keywords : Over, Under, back.

   1. Hold one poi, and strech the other arm. ( In this video, hold poi with right hand. )
   2. Spin poi once at the right side.
   3. When POI comes from top to bottom, move poi to the other side of your body, and spin through the top of left arm. and spin onece.
   4. Then spin poi under the left arm once.
   5. Spin POI back to the right side when it comes down.

Practice hands

   1. Bigin with forward 2 beat weave.
   2. Focus on the top arm. Find the timing when the top arm goes throw under the other arm.
   3. Onece your top poi go throw under the other arm, 2 beat weave becomese top side bottom.
   4. Do the same with the other top hand.
   5. Keep doing that as swinmming crawling.

Basic move of horizontal plane. try both direction clockwise, counterclockwise.

Right poi or left poi is slightly over the othe poi. So you should practice both version. R top, or L top

Hands can connect in the middle of your body, but don't cross them. Yes you can cross arms and do buttefly, but it is very much hard.

Forward to backward

  1. step back your leg which is the direction you want to turn.
  2. Whne poi comes down from top, throw both poi beside the leg you step back.
  3. Turn 180 degrees.
  4. Pull pois up, now you spin backward.

Backward to forward

  1. step back your leg which is the direction you want to turn.
  2. When poi comes up from bottom, throw both poi over beside the sholder which is the direction you trun.
  3. Turn 180 degrees.
  4. Pull pois down, now you spin forward.

後ろ回しから前回し

  1. ターンしたい方向の足を引きます。
  2. ポイが下から上に来るときに、ターンする側の肩の斜め上横にポイを両方とも通します。
  3. そのまま回れ右(or左)をします
  4. ポイを前方に下ろすと前回しになっています。

前回し後ろ回し

Spin poi as skipping rope. Make planes on each side of your body. Try to spin poi on those pararell plane.

When both poi spining togather, the rhythm is called 'Intime'. Spining in 180 difference rhythm is called 'Splittime'.
